appointed for the sale of the said land, shall and he is
hereby authorised and required to pay over to Abel
Gouty, the administrator of said Zacheriah Gouty de-
ceased, all the money arising on the sale of said land after
deducting his commission and expences which is or may
be allowed him by said court.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Abel
Gouty shall apply the money to the payment of legal
claims against the said deceased, and shall than deliver the
balance of the money, (if any) to. the orphan's court, to be
applied under the direction of said court in the following
manner, to wit: one third part to the widow, and the
balance amongst the children of the said deceased equal-

ly.

CHAPTER 27.

An act to authorise the Bonks in this State to issue small
notes for a limited time, and for other purposes.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the several Banking Institutions
within this state, be and they are hereby authorised to
issue bank notes, on good line paper, of any denomina-
tion less than five dollars.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That either of the
said banks may invest such portion of its capital as may
be thought advantageous to the institution in stock of the
United States, or in the stock of any bank now or here-
after chartered within the United States.

tinue, and be in force until the twentieth day of No-
vember next and to the end of the next session of assem-
bly which shall happen thereafter.

CHAPTER 28.

Term of enact-
ment.

An act for the relief of Samuel M'Clellan and George
H. Seckel of the city of Baltimore.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the judges or any judge of
Baltimore county court, be and they, or any one of them,
either in open court, or in the recess of said court are
hereby authorised and directed to extend to Samuel
M'Clellan and George H. Seckel, and each of them, the
benefit of the act of assembly, passed at November ses-
sion eighteen hundred and five "entitled, an act for the
relief of sundry insolvent debtors and the several supple-
ments thereto, without requiring the said Samuel M'Clel-
lan and George H. Seckel or either of them, to produce?
the assent in writing of so many of their or either of their
creditors, as have duo to them two thirds in amount
of the debts due by them the said Samuel M'Clellan
and George H. Seckel, or either of them as is pre-
scribed by the provisions of the said act and sup-
plements thereto, and notwithstanding any deed or
other transfer or disposal which the said M'Clellan and
