Seckel or either of them, may have made of their pro-
perty for the security of their or any of their creditors.

CHAPTER 29.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act to encourage the
education of youth in Worcester county.

Preamble.

WHEREAS it has been represented to this general
assembly that it has been found impracticable to manage
the affairs of the school incorporated by the said act,
under the provisions thereof,

Numbers of
trustees.

SEC. 1. BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the
General Assembly of Maryland, That the number of
trustees required by said act shall be reduced to twelve,
and the following persons shall be the trustees, viz :
John C. Handy, Ambrose White, Samuel R. Smith,
James Givan, Ephraim K. Wilson, William Whitting-
ton, Lemuel Purnell, Joshua Duer, John S. Martin, Geo.
Hayward, Thomas R. S. Spence and Robert J. H. Han-
dy; and the said trustees and their successors shall here-
after constitute a body politic and corporate with all the
powers and privileges created by the act to which this
is a supplement.

Vacancies.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That when a vacancy
takes place by the death, resignation, refusal to act or
removal from the county of any of the said trustees, the
remaining trustees or a majority of them shall elect by
ballot a person to supply such vacancy.

Meetings.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trustees
or a majority of them, shall fix the time of their meet-
ings, and may from time to time borrow money for the
benefit of the institution pledging the corporate proper-
ty for the repayment thereof.

Repugnant
clauses repeal-
ed.

4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all and every

part or parts of the original act to which this is a supple-
ment, repugnant to or consistent* with the provisions of
this act shall be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 30.

Passed Jan.
11, 1815.

An act for the benefit of Thomas Noble, James Hand-
cock, Eli Perdue, William Benchboard, Robert Bell,
John Roberson, Alexander Richardson and Sarah
Handcock, widow of John Handcock, of Worcester
county.

Sums may be
levied for their
maintenance.

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Worcester county shall, and they are hereby directed
and empowered at their levy court annually, so long as
they shall see cause, to levy on the assessable property of
said county, for this support and maintenance of Thomas
Noble, James Handkock, Eli Perdue, William Beach-
board, John Robertson, Alexander Richardson and Sarah
