CHAPTER 48.

An act to authorise the corporation of the city of Anna-
pulls to repair certain wharves,
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the mayor, recorder, alder-
men and common council of the city of Annapolis be,

and they are hereby authorised to repair any private

wharves belonging to persons who shall refuse alter
two months notice to repair the same, and they are per-
mitted to receive the wharfage money of said wharves
until such repairs are paid for, or until the owners shall
pay the expense of such repairs.

CHAPTER 49.

An act for the relief of Richard Thompson of Saint
Mary's county.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court
of Saint Mary's county shall, and they are hereby em-
powered at their levy court annually, so long as they

shall see cause, to assess and levy on the assessable
property of said county, a sum of money not exceeding
thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the
said Richard Thompson, and that the same be collected
annually by the collector of Saint Mary's county, and
by him paid to the said Richard Thompson or his order.

An act authorising John Ireland late sheriff of Calvert

county to complete his collections.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the said John Ireland be, and he
is hereby authorised to collect until the first day of Jan-
uary eighteen hundred and fifteen, in the same mariner
as he could or might have done within the time limited
by law, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the
duty of the said John Ireland, before he proceeds to exe-
cute or distrain the property of any person or persons,
for officers' fees or public dues in virtue of this act, to
deliver to or to leave at the last place of abode of such
person or persons, his, her or their executors or admin-
istrators, chargable with the same, at least thirty days
previous to levying such execution or distress, an ac-
count written in words at full length, of the officers' fees
or public dues demanded of him, her or them, with an
affidavit annexed thereto, that he hath not received any
part thereof, nor any security or satisfaction fur the
same, more than credit given, to the best of his know-
ledge.
