Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to the Reverend
Joseph Wyatt the sum of one hundred dollars, for his services as chaplain
to the house of delegates, the present session, out of any unappropriated
money in the treasury.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Upton S.
Reid clerk to the home of delegates the sum of one hundred dollars; to
Thomas Rogers clerk to the senate, the sum of one hundred dollars; to
Gideon Pearce assistant clerk to the house of delegates, the sum of one
hundred dollars; and to James G. Davis assistant clerk to the senate the
sum of fifty dollars, as an additional compensation lor their extraordinary
services during the present session.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Upton S.
Reid clerk to the house of delegates the sum of sixty dollars, and to Tho-
mas Rogers clerk to the senate the sum of fifty dollars, lor their extraor-
dinary services at the May session.

No. 14.

Resolved, That the governor be, and he is hereby authorised and direct,
ed to came to be a adjusted and paid the claims of such supernumerary offi-
cers as were called into service by him under a requisition of the general
government, bearing date March 20th 1813, and who upon a muster by
the inspecting officer of the United States were discharged; said requisi-
tion as it related to privates not having been fully complied with.

Respecting
the pay to the

eral.

No. 15.

Retained, That the examiner general shall lay before the next General
Assembly the amount of fees that he may receive in the present year on
oath; and that the treasurer of the western shore thereafter pay to him, or
his order, such sum in addition to said lees as shall amount to three hun-
dred pounds far the present, year.

Authorising
an augmenta-
tion of the
loan.

No. 16.

Whereas, It is highly probable the militia of this state will be called into
actual service the next summer for the purpose of repelling the attacks of
the enemy. Should this, be the case considerable expense will necessarily
be incurred, and although only a part of the loan authorised by the reso-
lution of May session last has yet been negotiated and appropriated, yet as
it is very possible that the balance will not be sufficient to meet the expen-
diture which the employment of the militia during the next year may oc-
casion, therefore to prevent the necessity of an extra session of the legisla-
ture which the occurrence of such an event would lender indispensably
necessary, Be it resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be,
and he is hereby authorised to negotiate a loan, on such terms and at such
periods as the governor and council shall approve, not exceeding the sum
of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars; and the faith of the state is here-
by pledged for the repayment of the principal and interest thereof.

Manor.

No. 17.
Whereas, It is stated to this General Assembly that a certain Gotleb
Shober hath commenced an ejectment in the circuit court of the United
States for the district of Maryland, for the recovery of Nanticoke Manor
in Dorchester county against the tenants thereof, to whom the said Manor
was sold by the state of Maryland. And whereas this assembly are in.
formed that a commission hath been ordered by the said court for the ex-
amining witnesses who reside in the state of New York, in behalf of the
defendants; and that it will be necessary that their counsel should attend
the execution of the said commission; Therefore,
Resolved, That the governor and council be, and they are hereby direct-
ed to employ counsel to attend the execution of said commission and to
defend the said suits.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to the order of
the governor and council a sum not exceeding three hundred dollars, far
affecting the purpose of the aforegoing resolve.
