the benefit of the several acts of assembly for the relief of insol-
vent debtors to the same extent that he would have been entitled
thereto, if he had been a citizen of this state for two years; Pro-
vided, that the commissioners of insolvent debtors shall be satis-
fied that there is no other legal objection than a want of residence
to the said Edward Ellsworth's discharge under the insolvent laws
of this state, and provided also, that the commissioners shall be fur-
ther satisfied that the said Edward Ellsworth did not come to this
state with the intention of taking the benefit of the several acts of
assembly, passed for the relief of insolvent debtors.

Provisoes.

2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of insolvent
debtors for the city and county of Baltimore, be, and they are here-
by authorised and required, to receive and entertain the application
of Edward Ellsworth for the benefit of the insolvent laws of Ma-
ryland, without requiring from the said Edward Ellsworth, the

Edward Ellsworth shall not be discharged from the custody of the
sheriff of Baltimore county, until the commissioners aforesaid, and
the county court of Baltimore county shall have finally heard and
decided upon the merits of his case, and upon any allegations which
may be filed against him.

chapter 98.
An act to enable William H. Wilson of Baltimore county, to purchase and
hold real property in this state.
Whereas, William H. Wilson, of Baltimore county emigrated
to and settled in this state, and since his emigration and settlement
as aforesaid, has become the purchaser at a trustees' sale in the city
of Baltimore of real property in Baltimore count}-, and his title to
said property from his not having been naturalized agreeably to
the laws of the United States, may be called in question to his de-
triment and injury; Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That William H. Wilson, a native of Ireland, shall be, and is
hereby enabled to have, hold, take and occupy all such real property
within this state, as the said William H. Wilson may purchase and
contract for, and may sell and dispose of the same, in like manner
as a natural born citizen of the United States may, and in case of
the death of the said William H. Wilson, without any disposition
of his said real estate by deed or will, the same shall descend to,
and be vested in his lawful issue or their legal representatives, ac-

cording to the due and ordinary course of descents; provided, that
nothing herein contained, shall in any manner defeat or effect any
right, title or claim to the said property, or any part thereof acqui-
red or prosecuted by any person or persons whatever before the
passage of this act, and provided also, that the said William H. Wil-
son shall, within twelve months after his being capable of beco-
ming a citizen, naturalize himself agreeably to the laws of the
United States, but in case of his death before the expiration of the
said twelve months, any property he may have purchased or acqui-
red, shall descend or pass to his legal representatives in the same
manner as if he had been naturalized.
