Dec. Ses. 1824

appeals, the clerks of the several county courts, the clerk of the
city court of Baltimore, the register in chancery, and the registers
of wills of the several counties in this state, were required to re-
new their several bonds on the first day of August eighteen hun-
dred and twenty four, and on default thereof, were subjected to a
penalty of one thousand dollars, and as some or all of the said
officers failed to renew their bonds on the day appointed in the
said act,

Bonds made
valid.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That in
all cases where the said officers, or either of them, since the pas-
sage of the said act, shall have renewed their said bonds before or af-
ter the day appointed in the said act, the same shall be deemed as
valid and binding as if they had been renewed on the first day of
August, eighteen hundred and twenty four; and the said officers
shall not in any manner he subject to the penalty imposed by the
second section of the said act; Provided, that the said bonds shall
have been approved by the officers authorised by the said act, to
approve of the same.

One judge
may approve
of bonds.

2. And be it enacted, That from and after the passage of this
act, the bonds to be executed by the clerks of the several county
courts in this state, under the act to which this a supplement, may
be approved by any one of the judges thereof.

CHAPTER 96.

An act for the benefit of the heirs of Patrick Kenedy, late of Cecil county,
deceased.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland. That the deed;
from Benjamin Cutler and wife, to Patrick Kenedy all of Cecil
county, executed on the sixteenth day of September, eighteen hun-
dred and fifteen, and duly recorded among the land records of Ce-
cil count), purporting to convey to the said Kenedy, his heirs,
executors, administrators and assigns, a parcel of land therein
described, shall be valid and have effect to vest in the heirs and re-
presentatives of the said Kenedy, a legal title to the said land and
the appurtenances thereunto belonging, in as full and ample a man-
ner as if the said Kenedy had been a naturalised citizen of the

Proviso.

United States, at the time of the execution of said deed, Provided,
that nothing herein contained shall in any manner be taken or con-
strued to effect the right of any person of, in and unto the said
property, acquired before the passage of this act, either by deed,
mortgage or otherwise.

CHAPTER 97.

An act for the relief of Edward Ellsworth of the City of New-York.
Whereas, Edward Ellsworth, a citizen of the state of New-
York, is confined in Baltimore county jail for debt, and has applied
for the benefit of" the several acts of assembly, passed for the re-
lief of insolvent debtors, and cannot receive the benefit thereof by
reason of his want of residence in this state for two years prece-
ding his application; Therefore,

Insolvent law
granted.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the judges of Baltimore county court are hereby authorised and
required to grant to Edward Ellsworth, of the city of New-York,
