doubted whether the county court of Anne Arundel county can
have jurisdiction in such suits as have been commenced against
persona heretofore considered as inhabitants in Anne Arundel
county, who reside on the south side of the new line; Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the county court of Anne Arundel county are hereby authorised
and required to Carry on to final judgment all such suits as may
have been commenced, before the passage of the act to which this
is a supplement against any person, who may reside between the
old line between the counties of Anne-Arundel and Calvert and
the line established by the law to which this is a supplement.
2. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for the sheriff of
Anne Arundel county, and he is hereby required to levy executions
in the same manner he might heretofore do, upon the persons or
property of the inhabitants between the old and new line aforesaid,
in all cases in which the county court of Anne Arundel have here-
tofore given judgment or may hereafter give judgment in persu-
ance of the authority conferred by the preceding section of this act,
3. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be lawful for the col-
lector of Anne Arundel county, and he is hereby required to com-
plete his collection of all taxes due within the territory heretofore
considered a part of Anne Arundel county, on the south aide of
the line established by the law to which this is a supplement.

CHAPTER 177.
An act to divorce Caroline R. Elvins of Baltimore City.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Caroline R. Elvins of Baltimore city, be, and she is hereby divor-
ced from bed, board, and mutual cohabitation with her husband
William Elvins.
2. And be it enacted, That the said William Elvins shall not by
virtue of his marriage with the said Caroline, be authorised to
have or claim any right or interest in the estate, real, personal or
mixed of the said Caroline, to be by her acquired after the passage
of this act.

CHAPTER 178.
An act to compensate the Adjutant General of this State.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
twenty-five, the Adjutant General of this state be paid the annual
salary of five hundred dollars, from any unappropriated money in
the treasury, as compensation for his services, in issuing orders, re-
ceiving and making out correct returns of the militia, and keeping
regular files of such returns in his office.
2, And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the Adjutant
General to report annually to the executive of this state, on the
first Monday in January, the strength of the militia, designating
all such commanding officers of corps, extra battalions, or compa-
nies, as have disobeyed his orders to make out their muster rolls.
3. And be it enacted, That all resignations of commissions be
made through the Adjutant General of this state.
