for and recover, by compromise, suit or suits in law or equity.,
property of any kind, whether real, personal or mixed in as full
and ample a manner as if she were a feme sole, and to hold, use
and enjoy the same for her own use and benefit, and the same to
dispose of according to her will and pleasure, without the let, hin-
drance, molestation, interference or consent of her husband., in as
full and ample a manner as if she were a feme sole, and may in her
own name sue and be sued, at law and in equity, in the same man-
ner as if she were a feme sole.

CHAPTER 174.

An act For the it valuation of real and personal property in Allegany County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of the tax for Allegany county, be, and
they are hereby authorised and directed immediately after the pas-
sage of this act or as soon thereafter as may be practicable, to
proceed agreeably to the provisions of an act passed at November
session, eighteen hundred and twelve, entitled, An act for the va-
luation of real and personal property in the several counties of this
state, to revalue and reassess the real and personal property within
said county.
2. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners be, and they
are hereby authorised to complete the said assessment anil make
return thereof agreeably to the provisions of the forty-fifth section
of the before recited act, on or before the twenty-fifth day of June
next, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
3. And be it enacted That John H. Bayard, James D. Cresap,
George Hoffman, John Templeman and William Reed, be, and
they are hereby created and appointed commissioners of the tax
for Allegany county, in the place of the present board of commis-
sioners whose power and authority as such are hereby made null
and void, and that the said John H. Bayard, James D. Cresap,
George Hoffman, John Templeman and William Reid, are hereby
authorised to carry into full effect and operation, all the provisions
of this act and the act of eighteen hundred and twelve, entitled, An
act for the valuation of real and personal property in the several
counties of this state.
4. And be it enacted, That so much of the thirty eighth section of
sail act, as exempts any lots or part of lots of land in said county,
from taxation, be and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 175.
An act for the relief of Samuel Grove of Washington County.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy
court of Washington county, be, and they are hereby authorised to
audit the account of Samuel Grove, for maintaining and taking care
of negro Jim, a poor cripple, and to levy on the assessable property
of Washington county and pay to him such sum of money as they
may think him fairly and equitably entitled to.
