the following officers of the civil government for the time being, shall
be entitled to receive at the rate of the following salaries, in current
money, for the ensuing year, to wit: the treasurer of the Western
Shore, two thousand dollars; the treasurer of the Eastern Shore, four
hundred and fifty dollars; the auditor, seven hundred dollars; the
clerk of the council, fifteen hundred dollars, in lieu of all other re-
muneration and compensation from the state; the clerk of the senate,
one hundred and fifty dollars; the clerk of the house of delegates,
three hundred dollars; the examiner general, six hundred dollars, in-
cluding his legal fees; the messenger to the council, two hundred and
fifty dollars.

2. And be it enacted, That all monies, which shall remain in
the treasury after discharging the journal of accounts, and all unap-
propriated money which may come into the treasury, be first applied
to the payment of the civil list for the ensuing year.

CHAPTER 154.
An additional supplement to the act, entitled, An act granting a loan
of money to the trustees of Charlotte Hall School.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the time
limitted for the payment of the money loaned by the net to which
this is a supplement, be, and the same is hereby extended to the first
day of April, eighteen hundred and twenty-eight.

CHAPTER 155.
A further supplement to an act, entitled, An act to incorporate a company
to make a turnpike road to lead from the cross roads, near Richard
Caton's limekiln, in Baltimore county, nearly in the direction of
Jones's Falls, to the city of Baltimore.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS it has been represented to this General Assembly, by
the petition of sundry inhabitants of Baltimore county, that the public
convenience would be greatly promoted by altering and changing the
location of the Falls turnpike road extended, from Richard Caton's
limekiln until it intersects the present location at or near the land of
William Jones, and the prayer of the petitioners appearing, reasona-
ble; therefore,

Section. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of "Maryland,
That William Tyson, Shadrack Kemp, John Johns, Thomas Scott
and Elisha S. Johnson, be, and they, or a majority of them, are here-
by empowered to review that part of the Falls turnpike road that
leads from Richard Caton's limekiln until it intersects the present
location at or near William Jones's land, and make such alteration in
the location of said road, as they in their judgment may think most
conducive to the public convenience, so as that, by such alteration,
the said road shall not be made to pass through any orchard, yard,
or garden, or field where grain is growing, without the consent of
the owner: and when such change or alteration shall be made in the
location of said road, the commissioners, or a majority of them, shall
have the same surveyed, marked and laid out, and return two certifi-
cates thereof, under their hands and seals, one to the clerk of Balti-
more county court, to be filed in his office, and the other to the
president, managers and company of the Falls turnpike road.

2. And be it enacted, That if the said Richard Caton, or any other
person or persons, through whose lands the said road shall pass, shall
object thereto, then the said president, managers and company may
apply to any two justices of the peace for Baltimore county, who,
