Extension of
insolvency.

CHAPTER 61.

An act for the benefit of Lewis Creager of Frederick County.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Judges
of Frederick County Court, be and they are hereby authorised and di-
rected to extend to Lewis Creager of Frederick County, the full be-
nefit of the act of Assembly passed at December session eighteen
hundred and five, Chapter one hundred and ten, and the supplements
thereto, notwithstanding it may be made appear to them that the
said Creager has given a preference to some of his creditors. Pro-
vided, That he complies with all the other terms and conditions of

Provisos.

said laws. And provided also, That if any such preference has been
given by said Creager it shall be no further valid than it would have
been if this act had not passed.

CHAPTER G2.

An ait for the relief of Calab Merryman and John Merryman of Benja-
min, securities of William Merryman, former Sheriff of Baltimore
County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS it has been represented to this General Assembly by the
petition of Caleb Merryman and John Merryman of Benjamin, that
judgment has been obtained against them as the securities of William
Merryman a former Sheriff of Baltimore County, now insolvent, by
the state of Maryland. And whereas it appears that from certain in-
solvencies for which the laws at that time had made no provision, the
said Sheriff was unable to collect a sum due him of much larger
amount than that for which judgment has been obtained against said
securities, and the petitioners for this reason pray a release from said
judgment, and their prayer appearing reasonable and just, Therefore,

Release.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That all the
right, claim and interest of the state of Maryland in and to said
judgment against William Merryman former Sheriff of Baltimore
County, Caleb Merryman and John Merryman of Benjamin, his se-
curities, be and the same is hereby released.

Penalty for
playing bul-
lets.

CHAPTER 63.

An act to prevent bullet playing in Middleburg, in Frederick County.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That if any
person or persons, after the first day of April next, shall be found
playing at bullets in the streets of Middleburg, in Frederick County,
each and every person or persons so playing, shall be liable to be
presented or indicted therefor in the County Court of Frederick
County, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined, in the discretion
of the Court, a sum not exceeding twenty dollars, and pay the costs
of prosecution.

An act for the benefit of John Lane of Frederick county.
WHEREAS, John Lane of Frederick county, by his petition to this
General Assembly, has set forth, that he emigrated to this country se-
veral years since and is settled in Frederick county in this state, and
wishes to purchase real property in this state, but not being yet na-
turalized, he is incapable of holding real property, and that he in-
