provisions of this act, be, and the the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 59.

An act extending' the time of taking the bond of the Sheriff of Saint
Mary's County.
Whereas it is provided by an act of the General Assembly pas-
sed at November session seventeen hundred and ninety four, en-
titled "An act for the amendment of the law in certain cases, " that
the Sheriffs bonds shall hereafter be taken on some day between
the eighth of October and the first of January in each year. And
whereas James Hayden, Sheriff of Saint Mary's county, hath not en-
tered into bond, for the year eighteen hundred and twenty three
agreeable to said act; Therefore

Preamble!

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Man/land, That the time
of taking the bond of said Sheriff of Saint Mary's County, be extend-
ed to the fifteenth day of February next, and that if the said Sheriff
at any time before or on the fifteenth day of February next, give
bond agreeable to the provisions of the said" recited act, the said bond
shall have the same effect, to all intents and purposes, as if the said
bond had been taken on or before the time prescribed by the said
law.

CHAPTER 60.

An act authorising the Levy Court of Queen Ann's County to levy a
sum of money for the purchase of a Jot of ground adjoining the Poor
House establishment of said County, for the benefit of said institu-
tion.

Whereas it has been represented to this General Assembly, by
the petition of the Board of Trustees of the Poor, of Queen Ann's
County, that they have contracted with a certain Thomas Bullin of
Talbot County, trustee for the sale of the property of Nicholas
Loveday, for a lot or part of a tract of land, adjoining their Poor
Mouse establishment and which belonged to said Nicholas Loveday;
Therefore,

Preamble.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Board of Trustees aforesaid, after having ascertained the num-
ber of acres so purchased, shall make a report to the Levy Court of
said County, stating the sum of money necessary to be raised for
the payment of the said lot or parcel of land.

2. And be it enacted, That the Levy Court of Queen Ann's County
be and they are hereby authorised and required to levy, at their
next annual levy, on the assessable property of the County aforesaid,
the sum so reported to be necessary for the purchasing and securing

3. And be it enacted, That the Collector of the Tax for Queen
Ann's County, shall pay over to the Board of Trustees aforesaid, or
to their order, the sum so levied and collected.

4. And be it enacted, That on the payment of the purchase money
of said property, by the said Trustees of the Poor of Queen Ann's
County, or their successors, to the said Thomas Bullin, or to any
other person who may be authorised to receive the same, or before
such payment, if the parties should agree thereto, the said Trustees
shall be, and they are hereby authorised, to receive a good and suf-
ficient deed of conveyance of said property from the person
or persons having power and authority to make the same, and
