CHAPTER 128.

A supplement to an act entitled, An act to establish a bank in the city
of Baltimore, to be called the City Bank of Baltimore.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the act to which this is a supplement, that requires
the directors of the City Bank of Baltimore to appoint a cashier, is
hereby repealed, and the directors of said bank are hereby authoris-
ed and empowered to dispense with the services of a cashier when
they shall deem it advisable, and to appoint in lieu of said cashier,
such officers or clerks as they may from time to time think necessa-
ry for the winding up the concerns of said bank; and to require
from the said officers and clerks, such sort of security as the said
directors in their discretion may think proper.

Directors.

2. And be it enacted, That so much of said law that prohi-
bits a director of any other bank, or any other person who is a part-
ner in trade with a director of any bank, from acting as a director
in the City Bank of Baltimore, is hereby repealed, and it shall and
may hereafter be lawful for any person to act as a director of the
same, although he may be a director of another bank, or a person
who is a partner in trade with a director of any other bank; any
law of the state of Maryland, to the contrary notwithstanding.

3. And be it further enacted, That so much of said law
which requires the president and directors and company of the City
Bank of Baltimore, to give six weeks notice in two or more news-
papers printed in the city of Baltimore, one in Annapolis, one in
George-Town, one in Frederick-Town, one in Hager's-Town, and
one in Easton, of the time and place of holding the election of di-
rectors, is hereby repealed; and it shall hereafter be sufficient to give
notice in one of the news-papers in the city of Baltimore, and one in
Easton, three weeks previous to the election of the directors an-
nually.

Preamble.

CHAPTER 129.

A supplement to the act entitled, An act to incorporate the Stock-hold-
ers of the Marine Bank of Baltimore.
Whereas, By the act to which this is a supplement, the location
of the Marine Bank is confined to that part of the city of Balti-
more called Fell's Point, and it is represented that the same is in-
convenient and injurious to the interest of the stock-holders—
Therefore,

Bank may be
removed.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the president and directors of the
Marine Bank of Baltimore, or a majority of them, to remove the
said bank from that part of the city of Baltimore called Fell's
Point, to any other part of the said city which they in their discre-
tion shall deem advantageous to the stock-holders, and convenient
for the transaction of the business of the corporation; and to pur-
chase or erect a banking house, or such other building as shall be
requisite for the accommodation of the said president and direc-
tors and the transaction of the business of the said corporation.
