Session, 1821.

Passed Dec. 10 1821. In favor of the members of the electoral col- lege &c.	No. 1. Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to the several mem- bers of the general assembly, and officers thereof, also to the members of the electo- ral college and their officers, or to their order, the several sums due to them, and fur which they shall obtain certificates from the Chairman of the committee of claims.
Passed Dec. 15 1821. In favor of J. Chandler.	No. 2. Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Jehu Chandler, the sum of two hundred dollars, in part of the allowance which may be due him on the journal of accounts for printing the runing business of the house.
Passed Dec. 17 1821. In favor of Wm. Moffit.	No. 3. Resolved, That William Moffit late sheriff of Cecil county, be and he is here- by released from the payment of the nine per cent per annum, of the fifteen per cent, for interest chargeable on the principal sums due from the said Moffit to the state, on condition only, that the said William Moffit, shall punctually pay the treasurer of the eastern shore, on or before the first day of April next, the principal sums due to the state, with interest on the same at the rate of six per cent per annum, from the respective periods at which by law the same are made payable to the trea- surer.
Passed Dec. 19, 1821. In favor of Elisabeth L. Gassaway.	No. 4. Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he is hereby direct- ed to pay to Elizabeth L. Gassaway, widow of the late general John Gassaway, of the city of Annapolis, or to her order, the sum of thirty eight dollars, being the a- mount of money due her husband at the time of his death, on account of the pen- sion allowed him for revolutionary services.
Passed Dec. 20, 1821. Relative to Penitentiary.	No. 5. Resolved, That a committee of nine—four on the part of the Seriate and five on the part of the House of Delegates, be appointed to visit and inspect the Peni- tentiary during the recess of the legislature, and that they be requested to report to this general assembly of Maryland, its present situation, and the manner in which it is conducted
Passed Dec. 21, 1821. In favor of Wm. Bateman.	No. 6. Resolved, That the Levy Court of Anne Arundel county, be and they are hereby authorised and empowered to examine into the claim of William Bateman of said county, and allow him such compensation as they may deem reasonable and just.
Passed Dec. 30, 1821. In favor of A. Arundel coun- ty clerk.	No. 7. Resolved, That the clerk of Anne Arundel county, be and he is hereby au- thorised and directed, to make a general Alphabet to the land records belonging to the office of said county court, and to have the same securely bound; and upon the completion of said work, the levy court of said county are hereby authorised and empowered to levy on the assessable property of said county, such sum of mo- ney as the judges of Anne Arundel county court may certify to them to be a fair compensation to the said clerk, for his services.
Passed Jan. 4, 1822. In favor of Ca- tharine Kilty.	No. 8. Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he is hereby autho- rised and directed to pay to Catharine Kilty, or to her order during life, in quarter- ly payments, a sum of money equal to the half pay of a Captain, as a further com- pensation for those meritorious services rendered by her deceased husband John Kilty, during the revolutionary war.
Passed Jan. 7, 1822. In favor of Tho- mas Post.	No. 9. Resolved, That Thomas Post, late sheriff of Washington county, be and he if hereby released from the payment of the nine per cent per annum, of the fifteen per cent, for interest chargeable on the principal sums due from the said Tho- mas Post to the state, on condition only that the said Thomas Post shall punctual- ly pay to the treasurer of the western shore, on or before the first day of July one thousand eight hundred and twenty-two, the principal sums due to the state, with in-
