1820.

marking irons, and all other things necessary for inspecting to-
bacco, and for the payment of the salary or salaries to the inspec-
tor or inspectors, as the proprietor or proprietors of the said
warehouse shall agree to pay; and if any tobacco shall remain in
the said warehouse above one year after inspection, the proprie-
tor or proprietors of the said warehouse may demand, and shall
be entitled to receive for each hogshead the further sum of twelve
and a half cents for every month thereafter.

CHAP. 51.

2. And be it enacted, That the justices of the levy court of
Caroline county, or a majority of them, shall, when the said
warehouse shall be erected and finished, and ready for the recep-
tion and inspection of tobacco, nominate and recommend, in wri-
ting, to the governor and council, two persons, of whom the go-
vernor, with the advice and consent of the council, shall he au-
thorised and required to appoint and commission one out of the
two, to he the inspector of the said warehouse, in the manner di-
rected by the act, entitled. An act to regulate the inspection of
tobacco, passed at November session eighteen hundred and one,

3. And be it enacted. That the said warehouse, when erected,
shall be in all respects under the same regulations as other public
warehouses for inspection of tobacco in this state are by law, and
the inspector of the said warehouse, when appointed, shall quali-
fy and give bond, and be subject in every respect to the regula-
tions established by the said act, entitled, An act to regulate the
inspection of tobacco, as if the said warehouse had been estab-
lished by the, said act, except where it is otherwise, provided by
this act.

4. And be it enacted, That every inspector appointed and act-
ing as such at the said warehouse, shall account quarterly, or
oftener if required, with the proprietor or proprietors of the said
warehouse, for all money by him received for the inspection of
tobacco, and shall pay the same quarterly, and if required shall
give bond, with security to such proprietor or proprietors, to ac-
count and pay an by this act is required.

CHAP. LII.

An Act for the Benefit of Joseph Richardson, Clerk of Caroline County
Court.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Jo-
seph Richardson, clerk of Caroline county court, he and he is
hereby authorised and empowered, to send out his fees due for the
year eighteen hundred and twenty, for collection or execution, at
any time until the fifteenth day of May next, any thing in any

law to the contrary notwithstanding; Provided, however, that eve-
ry sheriff in whose hands fees shall be placed by the said Joseph
Richardson for collection, shall he allowed until the fifteenth day
of July next, to deliver the accounts of fees, or bills of particu-
lars, to the respective persons, and to the fifteenth day of Decem-
ber next to account for and pay over the money for the said fees.
