all carriages with one horse, five cents; two horse,
ten cents; four horse, twenty cents; six horse,
thirty cents; all wagons of burthen whose wheels
exceed four inches in breadth, shall pay one-half
the above rates.

Right to close
road.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this company,
during the construction of the Turnpike Road as
aforesaid, have the right to close said road and
prevent travel, when in their judgment, said tra-
will work an injury to said road.

|

Banking pri-
vileges forbid.
|
SEC. 8. And be. it enacted, That nothing in this
act shall be construed as to authorise said cor-
poration to issue any note, token, scrip, device or
other evidence of debt to be used as a currency ;
and that the Legislature reserve to itself the right
to alter or amend this act of incorporation at
pleasure.

|
Repealed.
|
SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That all acts
and parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions
of this act are hereby repealed.
|

|
|
In force.
|
SBC. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT for the repair of, and introduction of
Gas Light into the Government House, en-
closure and out buildings, and for the purchase
of furniture.

priated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sum of five thousand
dollars, be and the same is hereby appropriated
for repairing the Government House, enclosure,
grounds and out-buildings attached thereto, the
introduction of gas-fixtures and apparatus, and
for the purchase of furniture.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Governor,
be and he is hereby authorized to have the Go-
vernment House, the enclosure, grounds and out-
buildings attached thereto, repaired and improved
