first Monday in December; and that said presi-
dent and managers shall make such rules, by-
laws and regulations as may to them seem neces-
sary for the well governing of the affairs of said
company; that all stockholders in any election of
the officers of said corporation shall he entitled to
vote as follows: one vote for each share of stock ;

Provided, that no person or body politic shall
have more than thirty votes, whatever number
of shares he or they may be entitled to.

Proviso.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the stockholders
in said company shall be and they are hereby in-
corporated and constituted a body politic, by the
name of "the Marsh Turnpike Company;" and
by that same name shall have succession during
the continuance of this corporation, and the said
stockholders and their successors by the name
aforesaid, may sue and be sued, answer and be
answered in any court of law or equity in this
State, and may do and execute every other matter
and thing by the name aforesaid, that they are
authorised to do in virtue of this act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said company
shall cause said road to be completed, within three
years from the passage of this act, otherwise, the
right of said stockholders shall revert to the State
of Maryland. "

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the Commis-
sioners' board of Washington county be and they
are hereby authorised to subscribe for such num-
ber of shares, not exceeding two thousand dollars,
in the capital stock of said company hereby in-
corporated.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the said com-
pany shall have the right to erect one toll gate ;
and they are hereby authorised to appoint a toll-
gatherer, whose duty it shall be to receive of, and
from all, and every person or persons using said
road, the tolls and rates hereinafter mentioned;
and to stop any person riding, leading or driving
any horse, cattle, sheep, hogs, wagon, cart, car-
riage, sleigh, coach or any other carriage of plea-
sure or burthen from passing through said gate
until they have respectively paid the same, that
is to say: for every score of sheep, five cents; for
every score of hogs, five cents; for every score of
cattle, ten cents; for every horse, three cents; for
