CHAPTER 59.

AN ACT entitled an act allowing a pension to
Ellen Shank, widow of the late John Shank, a
private soldier of the Maryland Line, in the
Revolutionary War, and appropriating a sum
of money for the payment thereof.

Passed Febru-
ary 20, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Treasurer of Mary-
land pay upon the warrant of the Comptroller,
to Ellen Shank, widow of John Shank, a soldier
of the Maryland Line, during the Revolution, the
sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, being the
arrears of pension for five years preceding the
passage of this act, and in addition thereto he
pay to the said Ellen Shank, an annuity of thirty
dollars per annum for the remainder of her life.

SEC. 2. And be it, enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 60.

In force.

AN ACT for the relief of George Finley, former
State tax collector of Queen Anne's county.

Passed Febru-
ary 23,1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sureties on the official
bond of George Finley, State tax collector of
Queen Anne's county for the year eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-two, be, and they are hereby released
from the payment of interest on the tax levied for
the use of the State, by the commissioners of said

amount due for principal from said collector, to-
gether with all costs and charges that may have
accrued, or that may accrue by reason of any
suits thereon be paid on or before the first day of
January, eighteen hundred and fifty-nine; And
