Duty of Judge.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That it shall be the
duty of the Judge of said Circuit Court, at each
and every term of said court, to give this act in
charge to the grand jury.
|
|
|
Duty of She-
riff and other
officers.
|
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That it shall be
the duty of the Sheriff of Anne Arundel
county and his deputies, and of the constables of
the city of Annapolis, to exercise proper vigilance
in order to detect all violations of this law, and
report immediately any such violations to the
judge of said court.

|
Fines.
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That of all fines im-
posed and collected under the provisions of this
act one-half shall go to the informer, and the
other half to the State; and the informer shall be
a competent witness in all cases arising under
this act.

Act to be fur-
nished— oath to
be Administer-
ed.
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That a copy of this
act shall he furnished by the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Anne Arundel county to each person
residing within the city of Annapolis and within
five miles thereof, who shall receive a license
under the provisions of this bill, for which lie
shall receive fifty cents; and the clerk shall, be-
fore he delivers any license to the parties afore-
said, administer and endorse upon the said license
the following oath or affirmation: I, A. B., do
swear upon the Holy Evangely of Almighty God
that I will faithfully comply with the provisions
of this act.

In force.
|
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the first day of April,
eighteen hundred and fifty-eight.
