the school in said district; Provided, that when-
ever a majority of the taxable inhabitants of any
school district in said county, shall determine
upon adopting the provisions of this act, said dis-
trict or districts shall be entitled to all the bene-
fits thereof.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the first day of July,
eighteen hundred and fifty-eight.

AN ACT to refund to Mary Chauvenet, widow
of the late W. M. Chauvenet, the sum of fifty-
three dollars and thirty-three cents, improperly
collected of her for the use of the State.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, the Register of Wills of Anne Arun-
del county, collected of the said Mary Chauve-
net, as executrix of her late husband, the sum
of fifty-three dollars and thirty-three cents, as
a tax upon the property of said deceased, which
was by law exempt from taxation; Therefore,
|
|
|
Amount re-
funded.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the said sum of fifty-three
dollars and thirty-three cents, shall be refunded
and paid back to the said Mary Chauvenet, by the
Treasurer of this State, upon the warrant of the
Comptroller.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
|
