be recorded in a book to be provided for that pur-
pose, and published once in some county paper.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That so soon, and
as fast as the said Company shall receive the re-
maining subscriptions of two hundred and forty
shares of stock, or so much thereof as may be ne-
cessary, they arc hereby authorised to progress be-
yond Caleb Peddicord's to the completion of said
Turnpike Road on the line designated by the first
section of this act, and conformably in all respects
to the terms, conditions and requirements in this
act contained and expressed.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That the County
Commissioners shall continue to supervise the said
road and continue the allowance now made tor the
repair of the same, until the Turnpike Road here-
by authorised has been constructed, as herein re-
quired, to the Liberty Road.

AN ACT to prohibit the sale of intoxicating
liquors in the city of Annapolis, or within five
miles thereof, to minors and people of color.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That from and after the first
day of April next it shall not be lawful for any
person or persons, whether licensed to sell spiritu-
ous liquors or not, to sell, dispose of, barter or
give, within the corporate limits of the city of
Annapolis, or within five miles thereof, any
spirituous or fermented liquors or cordials of any
kind, or in any quantity whatever, to any youth
or minor under the age of twenty-one years,
without the written order of the parents and
guardian of such minor, nor to any free negro or
mulatto, except upon the certificate of three re-
spectable freeholders of the city of Annapolis
that said free negro or mulatto is of good and
