AN ACT authorising the Commissioners of Cen-
treville, Queen Anne's county, to levy upon
real property in said town a tax sufficient to
pave the side-walks thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Commissioners of the
town of Centreville, in Queen Anne's county,
shall, thirty days after the passage of this act,
notify the owners of real property in said town
each to pave with brick the side-walk extending
along his or her lot or lots of ground that lies
adjacent to any of the public streets in said town.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if after the ex-
piration of sixty days from the time said notice
shall have been given as aforesaid, any owner of
real property in said town shall fail to comply
with said notice, it shall be lawful for the said
Commissioners to levy a tax upon the real pro-
perty of said town, sufficient in their judgment
to pave the side-walks thereof, said tax to be
apportioned among the owners of the lots of
ground remaining unpaved, in the proposition
necessary to enable said commissioners to pave
the side-walks along each of said lots.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this tax so
levied as aforesaid shall be a lien upon the pro-
perty upon which it is levied, to be collected by
the bailiff of said town by execution and sale,
after a notice of sixty days, to be given by said
bailiff to the owners of said property.
