LAWS OF MARYLAND.

by the board of Commissioners of Howard coun-
ty, they shall allow to the supervisors and per-
sons working as laborers on the roads of said
county, the following rates: for every supervisor,
two dollars per day; to a man hand, one dollar
per day; to a woman hand, seventy-five cents
per day; for one yoke of oxen and cart with
driver, two dollars and fifty cents per day, and for
plow and two horses with plowman, two dollars

Proviso.

and fifty cents per day; Provided, that this act
shall not be construed to apply to any person now
holding the office of supervisor in said county,
during his present term of office.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all laws in-
consistent with this act be and they are hereby
repealed.

To take effect.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect and be in full force from the day of
its passage.

CHAPTER 376.

Passed March
9, 1858.

AN ACT to refund to Thomas E. Martin, Wil-
liam S. Weedon and William V. Stinchcomb,
a certain sum of money illegally forfeited and
paid by them into the Treasury.

Sum appro-
priated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sum of nine hundred
and eighty-four dollars and thirty cents, is hereby
appropriated out of any unappropriated money in
the Treasury, to pay Thomas E. Martin, William
S. Weedon and William V. Stinchcomb, the
amount of the recognizance illegally forfeited and
paid by them into the Treasury of this State, to-
gether with the costs in the case of State vs. Rich-
ard Tydings, and that the Treasurer is hereby au-
thorised and required on the warrant of the
Comptroller, to pay to the order of the said Thom-
as E. Martin, William S. Weedon and William
