persons named in the first section of this act shall
be the first trustees.

May pass by-
laws.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the majority of
the hoard of trustees shall have power, from time to
time, to enact by-laws for the management of the
affairs of the said corporation, and for carrying
out the objects of this corporation.
|
|
|
May hold real
and personal
estate.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That for the pur-
pose of carrying out the objects of this corporation,
or for any purpose connected therewith, the said
corporation shall have power, from time to time,
to purchase, take and hold real and personal
estate, not exceeding in amount five thousand
dollars, and to sell, lease and dispose of the same
either absolutely or upon condition.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, with a re-
servation to the Legislature of its right to alter,
amend or repeal at pleasure.

AN ACT to incorporate the "Towsontown Rail
Road Company."
|
|
|
Incorporated.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Nathan Smedley, John
R. D. Bedford, Enos Smedley, Jacob Wisner,
Dr. Grafton N. Bosley, Amos Mathews, Wil-
liam M. Ellicott, Benjamin Bowen, William Bow-
en, James L. McDaniel, and William B. Hill,
and all and every other person or persons, who
with them, or in their stead, shall hereafter be-
come members of the Towsontown Rail Road
Company in the manner hereinafter mentioned,
their successors and assigns shall be and are here-
by created and declared to be a body corporate
and politic, by the name and style of the Tow-
sontown Rail Road Company, and by that name
shall and may have perpetual succession and be
capable in law of purchasing, holding, improv-
ing and disposing of property, real, personal and
mixed, for the purposes hereinafter authorised,
