shall die or resign, or become otherwise disquali-
fied as hereinbefore provided, and the said succes-
sion shall be forever kept up and perpetuated in
manner and form as above mentioned.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall and
may be lawful for the said corporation and their
successors, if they deem it proper, to have a com-
mon seal for their use, and the same at their will
and pleasure to alter, break and amend, and shall
in general have and exercise such rights, privi-
leges, franchises and immunities, as by law are
incident and necessary to corporations of this
kind, and shall be capable in law to sue and be
sued, to plead and be impleaded, answer and be
answered unto, defend and be defended in all or
any courts of justice, and before all or any judges,
officers or persons whatever, in all actions, mat-
ters and things whatsoever.

By what name
known.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said church
or house of worship shall be called and known
by the name of Mt. Pleasant Church, and the
said body politic so elected and to be elected as
aforesaid, shall be known and distinguished by
the title of the Trustees of the Mt. Pleasant
Church, in Carroll county.

In force.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 367.

AN ACT appropriating a sum of money to pay
the Independent Greys, the Baltimore City
Guards, the Wells and McComas Riflemen, the
Law Greys and the Marion Reserve Guard, mili-
tary companies in the city of Baltimore, for ser-
vices rendered in suppressing a riot on the Bal-
timore and Ohio Railroad, in May eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-seven, by the orders of the Gov-
ernor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
