CHAPTER 351.

Passed March
8,1858.

AN ACT to enable Eliza Ann Francis and Eliza
Jane Francis, to inherit the real and personal
estate of Corbin Francis.

Estate to de-
scend.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the real and personal estate
of which Corbin Francis, a free negro of Harford
county, died, seized and possessed, shall and may
descend to his only child Eliza Ann Francis, sub-
ject to a right of dower in the same, hereby given
to his wife Eliza Jane Francis, after the payment
of all claims due from and by said deceased.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 352.

Passed March
8, 1858.

AN ACT to compensate Josiah H. Gordon, for
legal services.

Treasurer au-
thorised to pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Comptroller of the
Treasury be and lie is hereby directed to issue his
warrant to the Treasurer for the payment of the
sum of three hundred dollars to Josiah H. Gor-
don, for the trial of the case of Owens vs. the
State, and also, the case of Colman vs. the State,
in the Court of Appeals, and that the Treasurer
be and he is hereby directed to pay the same.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.
