AN ACT to refund to Thomas B. Billingsley,
late Sheriff of Calvert County, a certain sum
of money.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Comptroller of the
State is hereby authorised to issue his warrant to
the Treasurer, directing him to pay to Thomas
B. Billingsley, late Sheriff of Calvert county, the
sum of twenty-four dollars and eighty cents, be-
ing the amount of a fine remitted by the Execu-
tive of Maryland.

AN ACT to define and limit the fees and com-
pensation of the Surveyor of Charles County.
|

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly, That the laws under which fees
of the Surveyor of Charles county, are now
charged, are involved in obscurity and doubt,
and that the fees now charged by him are
merely in accordance with usage, and without
the sanction of law, And whereas, sound poli-
cy requires that the fees and charges of all pub-
lic officers should be certain and specific, There-
