sum of six hundred dollars each, for the said two
counties.

Contract to be
signed.

SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That the contract so
made shall be signed by the officers of the said
bridge company, or by an agent or attorney by
them duly authorised, on the one part, and by
the clerk of each of the said County Commission-
ers, or by an agent or attorney, to be by the
said Commissioners named and authorised, on
on the other part, and a duplicate thereof filed
in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of
each of said counties, and no contract shall be
made for a longer period than five years at one
time.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That from and after
the first year of such agreement, the commission-
ers shall be authorised to levy in advance, and
pay on the first day of January in each year, the
sum agreed to be paid to said bridge company, to
secure them the means of making their usual
dividend.

May dispense
with footway.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said bridge
company may dispense with the foot-way and use
the whole width of the bridge as a carriage and
cart way.

AN ACT to grant the leave of the Legislature to
a bequest made in the last will and testament
of Elizabeth C. Wootten, late of Frederick
county, deceased, to the Vestry of Zion's Parish
in said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the leave of the Legisla-
ture be and the same is hereby given to a bequest
made in the last will and testament of Elizabeth
C. Wootten, late of Frederick county, deceased,
to the Vestry of Zion's Parish, in said county.
