SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Commissioner of the
Land Office of Maryland, he and he is hereby
authorised, directed and required, to issue a pat-
ent to Robert Mays, of Baltimore county, upon
a certificate of re-survey recently returned to the
Land Office, called Hurst's Hills, re-surveyed for
the said Robert Mays, the tenth day of February,
eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, and containing
seventy acres, three roods and twenty square
perches of land, without requiring the payment
of any money for composition or improvements
thereon, or any proof of payment of composition
thereon; And provided, nevertheless, that nothing
herein contained, shall be so construed as to affect
any legal or equitable right or title of any other
person or persons, acquired before the passage of
this act.

Right of State
relinquished.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the right of
the State to said land and improvements, be re-
linquished, any former claim to the said land on
behalf of the State notwithstanding; and for the
services hereby required to be performed by the
said Commissioner of the Land Office, he shall
be entitled to the compensation allowed by law
in similar cases.
