Stansbury, shall pay so the Treasurer the full
amount now remaining unpaid, together with the
full amount of interest received by him.
|

Time extended.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the time al-
lowed for the collection of unpaid direct State
taxes, for the year eighteen hundred and forty-
eight, be extended until the first day of Septem-
ber, eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, and the
said John L. Stansbury, shall have power to col-
lect all arrears of said tax, and account to the
Comptroller for the same.

Full release to
be granted.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That upon the faith-
ful compliance by the said John L. Stansbury,
with the foregoing provisions of this act, by
making the report and payments therein pro-
vided for at the time fixed for the same, and the
Treasurer and Comptroller being satisfied of the
correctness of such report, they, the said Treasu-
rer and Comptroller, shall be, and they are here-
by authorised and directed to give a full release
to the said John L. Stansbury, for all claims of
the State against him, on account of direct taxes
for the year eighteen hundred and forty-eight,

placed in his hands for collection; Provided, the
said John L. Stansbury, shall have paid over to
the Treasurer the whole balance of said direct
taxes placed in his hands respectively, for collec-
tion, with all the interest received thereon, over
and above the amounts legally allowed for in-
solvencies, and erroneous assessments.
