State and county taxes, in Charles county, be and
the same are hereby released from the payment
of any interest that may have accrued on the

State's claims against the said Marshall; Pro-
vided, the whole principal amount of said claims,
together with all costs of judgments obtained by
the State against said Marshall, shall be paid
within or before the expiration of twelve months
from the passage of this act.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 337.

In force.

AN ACT requiring John L. Stansbury, Collector
of the State Tax of eighteen hundred and forty-
eight, for Baltimore county, to make statements
to the Comptroller, of the amount of State
Taxes due from him, and to pay the same into
the Treasury at such times and on such condi-
tions as are herein provided.

10, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That John L. Stansbury, of Bal-
timore county, and Collector of State taxes there-
in, for the year eighteen hundred and forty-eight,
shall be, and is hereby authorised to account with
the Comptroller of the Treasury for the balance
of the State direct taxes, placed in his hands for
collection, and now unpaid to the Treasury, in
the manner following, to wit: the said John L.
Stansbury shall, on or before the first day of
September next, make a report in writing to the
said Comptroller, of all direct taxes collected by
him, for the year eighteen hundred and forty-
eight, and also the amount of interest received
by him on the amount collected to the date of
such report, which shall be verified by the affida-
vit of said John L. Stansbury, and within five
days after making said report, said John L.
