CHAPTER 48.

Passed Febru-

ary 1, 1858.

AN ACT to grant the leave of the Legislature
to a sale of land to the Vestry of St. Paul's
Parish, in Calvert county.

Consent of Le-
gislature given
to sale.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the leave of the Legislature be,
and the same is hereby given to the sale of land
made by Richard H. Hagner, Trustee, and Richard
Hance and wife, to the Vestry of St. Paul's Par-
ish, in Calvert county, by deed dated the thir-
teenth day of August, in the year eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-six, and recorded in Liber N. D.,
No. 1., Folio 777, &c. , one of the land record
books of Calvert county: and the said sale is
hereby declared valid.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 49.

Passed Febru-
ary 4, 1858.

AN ACT appropriating a sum of money for the
payment of the claims of Collins, Heath and
Hutchinson, Scott and Wilson, John H. Slay-
maker, Lewis Gootee, J. S. Merriken, James
Branzell, William Freeman, Henry G. Letour-
neau, William J. Jewell, George W. Becken-
baugh, John Wesley White and James Murray.

Sum appro-
priated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sum of one thousand
four hundred and twenty-one dollars and eighty-
nine cents, be and the same is hereby appropriated
for the payment of the claims of Collins, Heath
and Hutchinson, for materials furnished for re-
pairs of State House; for the payment of Scott
and Wilson, for paving entrance to the South gate
of the State House, and furnishing materials; for
the payment of John H. Slaymaker, for cleaning
