Required to
furnish an an-
nual statement
of accounts.
|
SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That the president
and managers of said company, shall keep a fair
and just account of all moneys received, either
by subscription, or for penalties received, as afore-
said, and of all moneys paid out in the prosecu-
tion of said work; and shall once a year submit
such account to a general meeting of the stock-
holders, and if the said capital stock be insuffi-
cient to complete the said road according to the
true intent and meaning of this act, it shall and
may be lawful for the said president and mana-
gers and company, to increase their numbers of
shares sufficiently to accomplish the work, and
receive subscriptions, and demand the same on
the original terms, or as shall be provided by their
by-laws.

Drivers of car-
riages must
keep to the
right.
|
SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That the drivers of
carriages of all kinds shall keep their horses and
carriages on the right hand side of said road,
leaving the other side of the road free and clear
for carriages to pass and repass; and if any driver
shall offend against this provision he shall forfeit
and pay not exceeding ten dollars, to any person
who shall be obstructed in his passage, the same
to be recovered as in debt, with costs, before any
justice of the peace in the county.

Banking pri-
vileges prohib-
ited.

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That nothing con-
tained in this act, shall be so construed as to au-
thorise the said company to issue any note, token
or device, or other evidence of debt, to be used as
currency.

|
Repealed.
|
SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That the act enti-
tled an act to incorporate the Old Road Turnpike
Company, in Baltimore county, passed at Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and forty-nine,
chapter one hundred and sixty, be and the same
is hereby repealed.

|
In force.
|
SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.
