cases made and provided.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the president
and commissioners aforesaid shall have full power
and authority to provide for the payment of the
damages and expenses of opening, widening, lay-
ing out and grading of streets, lanes or alleys in
the said town, by levying and assessing the same
generally upon the whole of the assessable pro-
perty of the said town, or specially upon the
assessable property of persons benefited by the
opening, widening or laying out of said streets
lanes or alleys.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT to refund to Jacob Campbell, of Car-
roll county, and Thomas H. Slaughter, of
Caroline county, the sum of fifty dollars each,
paid by them for their Commissions as Regis-
ters of Wills for Carroll county, and Caroline
county, respectively.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Treasurer, be and he
is hereby required on the warrant of the Comp-
troller to pay to Jacob Campbell, of Carroll coun-
ty, and Thomas H. Slaughter, of Caroline coun-
ty, the sum of fifty dollars each, the same having
been paid by the said Jacob Campbell, and the
said Thomas H. Slaughter, for their Commissions
as Registers of Wills for Carroll county, and
Caroline county, respectively.
