CHAPTER 258.

Passed March
10, 1858.

AN ACT for the benefit of Alfred A. Duhamel,
late sheriff of Queen Anne's county.

Authority to
collect.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Alfred A. Duhamel, late
sheriff of Queen Anne's county, he and he is
hereby authorised to collect all fines, forfeitures,
amercements, officer's fees and public dues which
were placed in his hands for collection during
the time he was in office, and which have not
been collected, in the same manner as he could
or might have done within the time limited by
law.

Act to con-
tinue in force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this law shall
be in force until the first day of March, eighteen
hundred and sixty; and shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 259.

Incorporated.

AN ACT to incorporate the Clinton Bank.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Thomas Kerr, William T.
Jamison, and John S. Combs, be and they are
hereby appointed commissioners, with authority
to establish a banking institution in Westernport,
in Allegany county, by the name of the Clinton
Bank, the capital of which shall be one hundred
thousand dollars, in shares of one hundred dol-
lars each, and the said banking institution shall
be, and is hereby incorporated with all the privi-
leges and franchises of bodies politic and corpo-
rate, and the said commissioners or a majority of
them, shall appoint the times for taking subscrip-
tions to the stock, for choosing directors and for
putting the bank into operation.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid
bank, from the time three hundred shares of its
capital stock have been actually paid up in gold
