SEC. 3. And be if enacted, That this act shall
have no force or effect unless the same shall have
first been assented to by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore and the Commissioners of
Baltimore county respectively, on or before the
tenth day of March next, in which event it shall
be of full force and effect from the day and date
of such assent.

CHAPTER 249.

AN ACT for the relief of the sureties on the
bond of William Goldsborough, former col-
lector of Queen Anne's county.

Released from
the payment of
interest.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sureties on the official
bond of William Goldsborough, collector for
Queen Anne's county for the year eighteen hun-
dred and forty-six, be and they are hereby re-
leased from the payment of all interest on the
State's claims against said William Goldsbor-

ough; Provided, the amount due for principal on
said claim together with all costs that shall or may
have accrued by reason of suit thereon shall be
paid on or before the first day of July next, upon
the adjustment of said claims by the Comptroller
of the Treasury; And provided, that the said su-
reties shall not be released from the payment of
such interest as has been received by the said
collector, his trustee or sureties, nor of such in-
terest, if any, which they may receive from tax
payers or taxes now unpaid and which may here-
after be received by them.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it, enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
