CHAPTER 244.

AN ACT to compensate James Revell, for pro-
fessional services rendered the State as counsel in
the matter of the application of Joseph Chris-
tie, for a habeas corpus, by appointment of the
Governor.
|
|
|
Treasurer to
pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Treasurer, be and he
is hereby authorised and required to pay to James
Revell, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, one
hundred dollars for services rendered the State,
by appointment of the Governor, in the matter
of the application of Joseph Christie, convicted
of manslaughter, in the Circuit Court for Anne
Arundel county, and now confined in the peni-
tentiary of this State.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
|

CHAPTER 245.
AN ACT for the relief of Grace Bewley.
|
|
|
Treasurer to
pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Treasurer of Maryland
pay upon the warrant of the Comptroller, to
Grace Bewley, the sum of two hundred dollars,
being arrears of pension due her as the widow of
George Bewley, a private soldier in the revolu-
tionary war.

nually.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer
pay to the said Grace Bewley, annually, the sum
of forty dollars, commencing from the first day
of January, eighteen hundred and fifty-eight,
being the half pay of a private soldier, during the
remainder of her life, the said sum to be paid in
semi-annual instalments, on the first day of Jan-
uary and the first day of July.
