SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That at the next gene-
ral election, the voters of said district shall be en-
titled to elect two constables for said district, any
thing in any other act to the contrary notwith-
standing.

May elect two

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That a constable may
be appointed according to the provisions of the
first section of this act, for election district num-
ber fifteen, or Tangier district of Somerset county,
until the next general election.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 237 .

In force.

AN ACT to exempt the parsonage property now
belonging to the Methodist Protestant Church,
situated in Uniontown, Carroll county, from
taxation.

Passed March
5, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the parsonage property
now belonging to the Methodist Protestant
Church, situated in Uniontown, Carroll county,
be and the same is hereby exempted from taxa-
tion in all levies which shall hereafter be made
by the County Commissioners for Carroll county,
and also from State taxes; Provided, that this
exemption shall continue so long as said property
shall be used for church purposes.

Exempted from
taxation.



SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.
