CHAPTER 20.

Passed Febru-
ary 11, 1858.

AN ACT to lay out and establish a new election
district, in Somerset county, out of Dames'
Quarter District, No. 4, to be called Tangier
District, or Election District No. 15.

New Election
District to be
laid out.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That a new election district be
laid out and established out of Dames' Quarter
District, No. 4, of Somerset county, the said dis-
trict to be known and called by the name of Tan-
gier District, or Election District, No. 15.

Boundaries.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the boundaries
of said district shall be as follows, to wit: begin-
ning at the north-east side of the mouth of a
creek, commonly called Bock creek, and thence
running due south, until it intersects another
stream of water, commonly called Fishing creek,
all that portion lying west of the aforesaid line,
and included in what was formerly called Dames'
Quarter District, to constitute the aforesaid Tan-
gier District, or Election District, No. 15, and all
lying to the west of the said line, to constitute
Dames' Quarter District, No. 4, as heretofore.

Place of hold-
ing elections.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the place of
holding elections in Tangier District, or Election
District No. 15, shall be at Rider's hotel, at the
upper end of Deal's Island, and the place of hold-
ing elections in Dames' Quarter District, shall be
at the same place where they are now held, or
what is commonly called Ford's store.

Officers to be
elected.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That there shall be
elected one justice of the peace, and one constable
for Tangier District, or Election District, No. 15,
and one justice of the peace, and one constable for
Dames' Quarter District, and one road supervisor
for each of the said election districts.

Rights and
privileges.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the inhabitants
of the said Tangier District, or Election District,
No. 15, shall be entitled, in all respects, to all the
rights and privileges held, or to be held, or en-
joyed by the other election districts in said county.
