CHAPTER 21.
|
|

|
AN ACT entitled an act to make valid and ef-
fectual a bill of sale from Henry Cassell, late
of Carroll county, deceased, to Daniel Wood-
yard.
|
Passed Febru-
ary 11, 1858.
|
|
|
WHEREAS, it has been represented to this Gen-
eral Assembly, That Henry Cassell, late of
Carrol! county, deceased, executed a bill of
sale of his negro woman Harriet to Daniel
Woodyard, on the seventh day of June, in
the year eighteen hundred and thirty-two, and
delivered to the said Woodyard possession of
the said negro woman; and whereas, the said
bill of sale was by inadvertence or ignorance
neglected to be recorded according to law; and
whereas, the only surviving children and grand-
children of the said Henry Cassell have united
in a petition to have the said bill of sale made
valid and effectual; Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the bill of sale of a negro
woman, executed on the seventh day of June, in
the year eighteen hundred and thirty-two, by
Henry Cassell, late of Carroll county, deceased,
to Daniel Woodyard, be and the same is hereby
made as valid and effectual as if the same had
been recorded according to law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.
