AN ACT to provide for the compensation of
Henry May, of the city of Baltimore, for legal
services rendered by him to the State in the
Circuit Courts of Allegany and Washington
counties, in the years eighteen hundred and
fifty-two and eighteen hundred and fifty-three,
at the request of the Governor.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sum of one thousand
dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated
out of the Treasury to compensate Henry May,
Esquire, of the city of Baltimore, for his services
rendered in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-
two and eighteen hundred and fifty-three, at the
request of the Governor, as counsel for the State
in the Circuit court for Allegany and Washing-
ton counties in the case against Robert Swan, in-
dicted for the murder of William O. Sprigg, and
that the Comptroller is hereby authorised and di-
rected to grant a warrant in favor of the said
Henry May for the aforesaid sum, and that the
Treasurer forthwith pay the money pursuant to
said warrant.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.
