have power to remove any School Commissioner
or Commissioners, so as aforesaid appointed, tor
incompetency, or a failure to perform any of the
duties required of him or them by this act, or
whenever they are fully satisfied that the interest
and prosperity of the schools, requires such re-
moval or removals.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said board
of Commissioners of Public Schools shall meet
on the third Wednesday of June next ensuing
their appointment, or within ten days thereafter,
and organize as a board, by the election of a
suitable person from their number to be Presi-
dent, and by the election of a Treasurer and a
Clerk, and any other officers that may be deemed
necessary, of persons within the board or not
of their own number, as the said board may deem
most advisable; and shall also have power to re-
move the same whenever they shall deem it ad-
visable for the interests of the schools so to do;
the said treasurer, clerk or other officers, shall
receive such compensation for their services as the
said board shall determine.

SEC, 4. And be it enacted, That whenever any
vacancy or vacancies shall occur in the board of
School Commissioners, of Somerset county, it
shall be the duty of the said board to immedi-
ately notify the Judges of the Orphans' court
thereof, whose duty it shall be to fill the same at
their first meeting thereafter.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the treasurer
of the said board, shall be required to give bond
to the State of Maryland, in such amount as the
said board may determine, who shall also have
power to approve of the same, conditioned for
the proper disbursement of all moneys that may
be entrusted to him, and for the faithful perform-
ance of such other duties as may be prescribed

SEC. G. And be it enacted, That the said board
