CHAPTER 179 .
|
|
|
|
AN ACT making an appropriation for the erec-
tion of a Hospital, for the insane in this State.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sum of fifty thousand
dollars, be and the same is hereby appropriated
for the erection of the Insane Hospital under the
provisions of the act passed at the January ses-
sion, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-two,
chapter three hundred and two, in manner and
form, as hereinafter provided.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the Treasurer upon
the warrant of the Comptroller, shall pay the '
said sum in equal payments, to the Commission-
ers or a majority of them appointed under the
aforesaid act; that is to say, one-eighth of said
sum on the first day of April, in the year eigh-
teen hundred and fifty-eight, one-eighth on the
first day of July, in the same year, and so on in
payments every three months, of six thousand
two hundred and fifty dollars each, until the ap-

propriation is exhausted; Provided, that said
Commissioners shall apply the said appropria-
tion in the construction exclusively of a centre
building and the northern wing of said Hospital,
according to the plan which has been adopted by
the said Commissioners.

AN ACT to increase the number of Justices of
the Peace and Constables in Kent county.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Kent county, be and they are hereby author-
ised to appoint an additional Constable for the
Second Election District, in Kent county, and
that the Governor, by and with the advice and
consent of the Senate, shall have authority to
nominate and appoint an additional Justice of
