payment of suck interest as shall have been re-
ceived by said collector, nor for interest accruing
on the principal from the passage of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 159.

In force.

AN ACT to authorise and require the County
Commissioners of Baltimore county, to levy a
sum of money, to lay off said county with School
Districts, and to build School Houses therein.

2, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commissioners
of Baltimore county, on or before the first day of
April, eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, and at
the usual time of making the annual county levy
thereafter, are hereby directed and required to
levy annually for three years, in addition to the
sum now authorised by law, for the support of the
public schools of said county, a further sum of
four cents in the hundred dollars, on the assessa-
ble property of said county, to be collected under
the same laws and in the same manner, as other
taxes are now or shall hereafter be collected in
said county, to be set apart for the exclusive use
of the School Commissioners of said county, to be
paid over by the Treasurer of said county, in the
same manner and at the same times now provided
by law, for the payment of the school tax to the
School Commissioners of said county.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the proceeds of
the levy hereinbefore authorised, when paid over
to the School Commissioners of said county, shall
form and constitute a distinct fund, from all other
school funds in the hands of said Commissioners,
and shall be known and designated as "The Pub-
lic School House Fund," and shall be applied by
the said School Commissioners, to the purchase of
the necessary ground, and the erection of school
