they are hereby authorised to invest in stock or
securities or in loans, and to lay out, as to said
corporation may appear most expedient, the said
funds, moneys and means, so that the same may
produce a certain and periodical income, which
said income, after deducting all necessary ex-
penses, shall be paid over to the trustees of Dick-
inson College aforesaid, by said corporation for
the support, conduct and uses of that institution
as the same shall be received, so long as said col-
lege shall be under the direction and auspices of
said Baltimore Annual Conference and said East
Baltimore Conference.

Fifth section
amended.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the fifth section
of the act to which this is a supplement, shall be
amended so as to read as follows: Be it enacted,
That the board of trustees aforesaid shall consist
of eight members, four of them to be appointed
by the Baltimore Annual Conference and four of
them to be appointed by the East Baltimore Con-
ference; and so to continue with power to each
Conference respectively to fill the vacancies which
may occur among their respective appointees,
whether such vacancy occur by death, resigna-
tion, ceasing to be members of the Methodist
Episcopal Church, or otherwise, and in the recess
of said Conference such vacancy to be filled by
by the remaning members of that portion of the
board in which the vacancy shall happen,, subject
to confirmation by the ensuing Baltimore Annual
Conference or East Baltimore Conference as the
case may be; and for the purpose of enabling the
said East Baltimore Conference to make such ap-
pointment of the four members to which it is en-
titled, a sufficient number of the present board
shall resign, (if necessary,) to reduce to the num-
ber of four, the trustees in said board, who are
to derive their appointment from the Baltimore
Annual Conference; and thereupon, four mem-
bers shall be appointed trustees by the said East
Baltimore Conference, or such other arrangements
may be made to this end as the two Conferences
shall authorise.

Sixth section
amended.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the sixth sec-
tion of the act to which this is a supplement,
shall be amended so as to read as follows: Ami
