Worcester county, former sheriff and collector of
said county, for the years eighteen hundred and
forty-three, forty-four and forty-five, be released
from the payment of the following taxes in chancery,
and fines and forfeitures, to wit; four dollars and
sixty-seven cents, taxes in chancery of eighteen
hundred and forty-two, for collection in eighteen
hundred and forty-three, eleven dollars and twen-
ty-five cents, for fines and forfeitures imposed by
Worcester County Court, at May term, eighteen
hundred and forty-three, four-dollars for taxes in
chancery, of eighteen hundred and forty-three,
for collection in eighteen hundred and forty-four,
and one hundred and thirty dollars, fines and
forfeitures imposed by Worcester County Court,
at November term eighteen hundred and forty-
three, and May term eighteen hundred and forty-
four, the same having been paid erroneously by
him.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 111.

In force.

AN ACT for the relief of the Sheriff of Kent
County.

Passed March
3, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sheriff of Kent coun-
ty, be and he is hereby entitled to receive annual-
ly from the said county, at the discretion of the
county Commissioners of said county, the sum of
seventy-five dollars to furnish lights and fuel for
the county jail, and that the Commissioners of
Kent county, are hereby empowered to levy the
same upon the assessable property of said county,
and that it be paid as other county charges.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
