SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That Resolution No.
8, of December session, eighteen hundred and
forty, entitled, Preamble and Resolution in rela-
tion to the six per cent, dollar and other bonds of
the State be, and the same is hereby repealed.

Duty of Fi-
nance Commit-
tee and Com-
mittee on Ways
and Means.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That it shall be the
duty of the Finance Committee of the Senate, and
the committee on Ways and Means of the House
of Delegates, within ten days after the close of the
present session of the Legislature, to examine,
count and burn all bonds and certificates for stock
of the State, in the hands of the Treasurer, pur-
chased by him for the use of the Sinking Fund, up
to the close of the preceding fiscal year, and
make a report to the next session of the General
Assembly.

In force.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 110.

Passed Febru-
ary 9, 1858.

AN ACT to relieve Mathias N. Lindsey, Sheriff
of Worcester County, from the payment of cer-
tain taxes in chancery, and fines and forfeitures
due the State of Maryland, in the years eigh-
teen hundred and forty-two, forty-three, and
forty-four.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it appears that the said Mathias N.
Lindsey, collected and paid the above named
taxes to William D. Fassit, Deputy Attorney
of Worcester county, in whose hands the same
had been placed to prosecute to collection, and
the said Attorney of the county aforesaid, failed
to settle with the Treasurer for the same,
Therefore,

Released from
the payment of
taxes, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Mathias N. Lindsey, of
