facilitate and carry out the measures made ne-
cessary by the division above referred to; There-
fore,

Incorporated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Thomas Kelso, William
Baker, Aaron Hoffman, Charles Towson, Stirling
Thomas, John W. Randolph, George Merryman,
Robert Turner and John Evans, of Baltimore
city aforesaid, and all the other members of the
said Methodist Preachers Aid Society, of the East
Baltimore Conference, or that may hereafter be-
come members thereof, or of the corporation hereby
created, agreeably to such constitution, rules and
by-laws, as the said society may have adopted, or
may hereafter adopt, be and they are hereby crea-
ted a body politic and corporate, by the name and
style of The Methodist Preachers Aid Society of
the East Baltimore Conference, and by that name
may, for the purpose of affording relief to the itine-
rant ministers of the said conference, their wives,
widows and children, and for the education of the
latter, have perpetual succession, and be able and
capable to sue and be sued, at law and in equity,
to have a common seal, and the same at pleasure
to alter, break or renew, and to do all acts neces-
sary and lawful for carrying into effect the object
of this incorporation, and are hereby made able
and capable in law to have, hold, purchase, re-
ceive, possess, enjoy and retain, to them and their
successors, lands, tenements and hereditaments,
rents, annuities or pensions, in fee simple, or for
a term of years, life, lives or otherwise, and also
goods and chattels and effects, of what nature or
description whatever, and the same again to grant,

Proviso.

demise, alien or dispose of; Provided, the clear
yearly value of the real and personal estate of
said corporation, shall not exceed the sum of ten
thousand dollars.

Disposal of
property.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall and
may be lawful for the corporation hereby created,
to receive from the Methodist Preachers Aid So-
ciety of Baltimore, the part of the funds and
property, real or personal, of said last mentioned
corporation, which in the division thereof herein-
before alluded to, is to be thereby placed under
the direction of the East Baltimore Conference,
