of fifty thousand dollars, granted to be raised for the
benefit of said Female Seminary, over and above the
said sum of three thousand eight hundred and sixty
two dollars, the expenses and charges incurred by
reason of the issuing of said writ of scire facias by
the Attorney General against the Commissioners am
Trustees of the said Female Seminary.

Commission-
er to draw from
contractors.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Commissioner
of Lotteries be and he is hereby authorized to draw
on and receive from the contractor or contractors of
the consolidated lotteries, the said sum of three thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-two dollars, for the ben-
efit of the Trustees of the Frederick Female Seminary;
and that the said contractor or contractors of the con-
solidated lotteries on payment of said sum of three
thousand eight hundred and sixty-two dollars, shall
be entitled to a credit in his or their settlement, on
his, or their, account with the Treasurer and Comp-
troller of the State, for said sum, so paid to the Com-
missioner of Lotteries for the benefit of the Trustees
of said Female Seminary.

AN ACT to make compensation to William J. Byrd
for a certain case argued in the Court of Appeals
for the State of Maryland by the appointment of
the Governor thereof.

Treasurer to
pay.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the
Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and re-
quired to pay upon the warrant of the Comptroller
to William J. Byrd the sum of fifty dollars for arguing
in the Court of Appeals by the appointment of the
Governor, and on the part of the State of Maryland
a certain case of the State vs. Mister, in which the
said State was interested as a direct parly to the re-
cord.
