counties of the Eastern Shore of this State, and that any
and all citizens or property holders in any of the coun-
ties on the Eastern Shore who may obtain policies in
said company shall thereby become members thereof and
entitled to all the privileges of members.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Managers
and Members of said Mutual Fire Insurance Company
shall have power and authority to provide by their by-
laws for changing the day of holding their annual meet-
ing for the election of Managers, and the payment of in-
terest on deposite notes from the first Saturday of August
annually, to any other day and month that may be found
most advantageous to the interests and convenience of the
members, and that the Board of Managers that shall be
elected on the first Saturday in August, eighteen hun-
dred and fifty six, shall remain in office until such day
as may be determined upon and named in the by-laws
for holding the annual meeting next succeeding thereto.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all parts of
the original act to which this is amendatory, and of the
supplement thereto, passed March sixth, eighteen hun-
dred and forty seven, inconsistent with the provisions of
this act be and the same are hereby repealed.

pealed.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this act shall
go into effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 8.

In force.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of A. C. Huguenin
for a clock for the Senate Chamber, and the repairs of
a clock for the Court of Appeals.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Treasurer pay to A. C. Huguenin,
upon the warrants of the Comptroller, the sum of two hun-
dred and forty five dollars and twenty seven cents, the
same to be in full of his account for furnishing a new
clock for the use of the Senate, for the repairs of a clock
for the use of the Court of Appeals, and for expenses in-
cident to the execution of his work.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act take effect
from the date of its passage.
