241. An act to incorporate the Board of Visitors of the Mount
Washington Female College near Baltimore.

242. An act to authorise the commissioners of Washington
county, to levy a sum of money therein mentioned for the support
of the public schools of said county.

243. An act to authorise the county commissioners of St. Ma-
ry's county, to levy a sum of money upon the assessable property
of said county, for the erection of a county jail.

244. An act to make valid a deed from James L. Dyson, Mar-
garet Dyson, Garet F. Dyson, and O. W. Dyson to William E.
Burtlet.

245. An act to amend the art entitled, an act to incorporate the
Dimes Savings' Bank in the city of Baltimore, passed at January
session, 1854, chapter 320.

246. An act to alter and amend the act passed at December .
session, 1849, chapter 101, entitled, an act to incorporate the
Ocean Mutual Insurance Company of Baltimore.

247. An act to incorporate a company to construct a bridge
across the Chesapeake and Ohio canal, and the Potomac river, at

to allow said company to run their boats from Sassafrass river to
Baltimore.

250. An act authorising Sarah Elizabeth Bowen, wife of James
Albert Bowen, to execute a deed to William Denny.

251. An act to require the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Frede-
rick county to make and prepare a general index to the land records
of Frederick county, and to transcribe two of the Equity Dockets
of said county.

252. An act to extend the provisions of an act passed January
session, eighteen hundred and fifty-four, chapter two hundred and
seventy-three, entitled, an act to provide a remedy against free ne-
groes, who may hire for a stipulated period to any person, and quit
the service of such person after entering on the same; and to pro-
vide a remedy against persons who may employ such free negroes,
with the knowledge that they had previously hired to another, or
engaged in another's service.

253. An act to cure certain defects in sundry mortgages and
deeds, and bills of sale, executed by Commodore P. Donoho to
James R. Donoho and Joel Cornwell, of Dorchester county.
